Richard Jones' Log: PyCon confirmed

Tue, 16 Jan 2007

I arrive Dallas FT Worth on Feb 22nd at 2:50PM. Haven't figured how to get to hotel yet. Staying for sprints (most likely pyglet-related) and leaving Mar 2nd for Columbus OH. Staying there for 2 days then off to Champaign IL for another 2 days then back home. If anyone would like to get together at any of those places, let me know :)

For options on getting to the hotel from the airport see http://us.pycon.org/Addison/GroundTransit . Taxi is roughly $45. The supershuttle is cheaper, but may make multiple stops before the conference hotel. If you are travelling with others or meet up, the supershuttle can be much cheaper (the online reservation page quotes $27 for the first person, $8 per person after that). It seems to require reservations though.

Don't bother with the bus or rail; it takes hours.

Best bet: wear a Python T-shirt and hope to meet others arriving at the same time.

I actually arrive from Vancouver, BC at the exact same time as you, Richard (terminal D is where I am landing). We can try to meet up if you want and take a taxi together to the hotel.

If you are interested in carpooling just send me an email.

I land about 40 minutes before you are due, could share a taxi. Will see you around and about at the conference at least :-)

We arrive the 21st, so no help there. The plan is to have time to deal with the network setup on-site, so I'll be around on the 22nd.

Last year we took the Super Shuttle and it worked out fine. I'd expect we'll do the same this year.

See y'all there.
